Choosing the right accessories for a DEV 33 half-round gutter matters as much as choosing the profile itself. Fascia bracket, clip-on outlet, 90° external angle, reversible stop end, 90° bend, Ø 100 mm downpipe, pipe clip: each part determines the watertightness and lifespan of your half-round gutter system. SuissePliage offers all of these accessories in galvanised steel, natural zinc, aluminium, copper and stainless steel – push-fit installation without soldering, sealed with special gutter silicone.

5 materials for your half-round gutter accessories

The golden rule: every half-round gutter accessory must be made of the same metal as the profile. Combining two different metals in the presence of water causes galvanic corrosion that destroys the parts within a few seasons. SuissePliage offers its DEV 33 accessories in five materials, all fully compatible within their own range.

Galvanised steel Natural zinc Aluminium Copper Stainless steel
Material Estimated lifespan Strengths
Galvanised steel 20 – 30 years Economical, tough, easy to work
Natural zinc 40 – 60 years Elegant grey patina, 100 % recyclable
Aluminium 30 – 50 years Light, maintenance-free, RAL coatable
Copper 80 – 100 years Characteristic green patina, prestige
Stainless steel 50 – 80 years Maximum resistance, aggressive environments

The 8 essential accessories for your DEV 33 half-round gutter

SIZING – WHICH DEV FOR WHICH ROOF AREA?

The development (DEV) is the width of the metal strip before forming. DEV 25 → Ø 80 mm: roof areas up to about 80 m². DEV 33 → Ø 100 mm: roofs over 80 m². In Switzerland, DEV 33 is the most common size on detached houses. DEV 25 and DEV 33 accessories are not interchangeable.

DEV 33 Ø 100 mm clip-on outlet, 90° external angle and reversible stop end – the three essential finishing parts of a half-round gutter system.

How to install a DEV 33 half-round gutter: 5 steps

A DEV 33 half-round gutter is installed by push-fitting, without soldering. Each joint is sealed with special gutter silicone. Following this order ensures a lasting result and proper rainwater drainage.

1

Work out the fall and fit the fascia brackets

Stretch a line from the high point (closed end) to the low point (outlet). Allow a fall of 2 to 5 mm per linear metre towards the outlet. Fix the first bracket at the high point, then the last at the low point, and fill in with a fascia bracket every 40 cm along the line. Screw each bracket home only after checking that the fall is continuous.

2

Fit the sections, angles and stop ends

Lay the gutter lengths in the brackets from the high point towards the outlet. At each joint, the sections push-fit over the bead by about 5 cm – apply special gutter silicone inside the joint before assembling. Fix the 90° external or internal angles at the roof corners in the same way. Finish with the reversible stop ends at both ends.

3

Install the Ø 100 mm clip-on outlet

Position the outlet at the lowest point of the run. Cut the gutter with a Ø 100 mm hole saw. Fit the outlet from outside, then fold the 2 built-in tabs over inside the gutter. Run a bead of special gutter silicone all round the outlet. To choose the right Ø 100 mm downpipe, see the SuissePliage range.

4

Connect the 90° bends and the downpipe

Push the first 90° bend onto the outlet spigot (female end facing down). Measure the distance to the facade and cut a length of pipe to size if needed. Fit the second 90° bend on the facade side so that the downpipe sits against the wall. Run the pipe down to the ground, push-fitting the sections with the male end facing down.

5

Fix the pipe clips and test for leaks

Fit a pipe clip every metre to hold the downpipe against the facade. Check the vertical alignment. Temporarily plug the bottom of the downpipe, fill the gutter and inspect every joint for 5 minutes. No visible leak? The installation is sound.

FAQ – DEV 33 half-round gutter accessories

Q
What is the difference between DEV 25 and DEV 33 for a half-round gutter?

The development (DEV) is the width of the metal strip before forming: it determines the gutter opening and its hydraulic capacity. DEV 25 (Ø 80 mm outlet) suits roofs of 35 to 80 m². DEV 33 (Ø 100 mm outlet) is recommended above 80 m² – it is the most common size on detached houses in Switzerland. Note: DEV 25 and DEV 33 accessories are not interchangeable.

Q
Can you mix accessories made of different materials on the same gutter?

No. Contact between two different metals in the presence of water causes galvanic corrosion, which quickly damages both materials. Every accessory must be made of the same metal as the gutter profile. The only exception: stainless steel screws, which are galvanically neutral. To seal the joints, use special gutter silicone only.

Q
How do I work out how many fascia brackets I need?

You need one fascia bracket every 40 cm. To calculate: divide the total gutter length in cm by 40, then add 1. Example: 8 metres = 800 ÷ 40 + 1 = 21 brackets. For a full estimate of every accessory you need, use the online SuissePliage configurator.

Q
Does the reversible stop end fit gutters from other brands?

The SuissePliage reversible stop end is sized for DEV 33 with a 14 mm bead, the most widespread standard in Switzerland. Compatibility with other manufacturers depends on the bead diameter and the exact development. If in doubt, check the dimensions of your existing profile (opening width, bead diameter) before ordering.

Q
Do you deliver gutter accessories throughout Switzerland?

Yes, SuissePliage delivers throughout Switzerland – French, German and Italian-speaking regions – as well as to Europe. Shipping costs are calculated by volume and destination when you order. Get your instant quote online at suissepliage.ch.
